A Different Kind of Renaissance

So, you've searched for "Francesca Borgo" after watching a Leonardo da Vinci documentary… and found yourself here. A gentle twist of fate. No, I’m not the Renaissance expert. I’m the other Francesca — the one who paints.

Because truthfully?
I love Leonardo.
His masterpieces, his studies, his endless curiosity — they move me deeply.

His art was a conversation with nature, science, spirit, and soul. And while I humbly walk a more contemporary path, I carry that same longing for meaning. I don’t sketch anatomy or invent machines, but I do chase emotion. I explore nature’s rhythm — not to replicate it, but to feel it. To let it move through me, and then onto the canvas.

Where Leonardo searched for beauty in precision, I search for presence in abstraction. A breeze, a fracture, a surge of light — these are my brushstrokes of understanding. My way of asking questions.

So no, I’m not that Francesca Borgo.
But I do believe that art — in any era — is a kind of pursuit. A reaching. A reverence for the world as it is, and as we feel it.
