Concept
The contrasting brass, gold and black colours of this richly textured mixed media wall sculpture bring a harmonious and energetic feel. With this painting I wanted to represent the aspirations to seek individual meaning and to find a place in the world. These are often aspects contrasting one another in the attempt to find unity and coherence. This personal search is often a slalom between lights and shadows, roughness and smoothness, what we want to leave and what we wish to keep.
Size, support, technique
The original artwork is a 31.5x31.5x1.2" (80x80x3cm) gallery wrapped canvas, made with acrylic colors, stucco, gels, latex mixed with sands and stones, yarn, glass shreds, plastic beads and epoxy resin.
The white and bronze colors also have some metallic pigments in them, and they shine under proper lightning conditions. Being this artwork heavily textured, it gives the viewer both a visual and a rich tactile experience.
It's signed on the back by the author and ready to hang.
