Springing from shadows
Concept
This abstract painting suggests me both a sense of great energy and of enchantment. In creating it, I was inspired by the shimmering lights on the rivers at sunset in winter, where the atmosphere seems to be engulfed in gold. It's a very emotional artwork, full of drive, inspiration and freedom. I love its resolute look.
Technique
The surface of this mixed media work is created with sand and paper. It's then painted with acrylic colors, metallic pigments and glossy varnish that emphasises the pale rose gold tones and the black shadows. Being richly textured, it gives the viewer both a visual and a tactile experience. Also, the metallic pigments and the varnish allow the painting to shine in different ways depending on the light of the room.

Size: 45x30x0.1 inches - 114.3x76.2x0.3cm on aluminum Dibond board. It's signed on the back.
Ready to hang:
- Default: It has a metal plate fixing (0.5cm thickness; total thickness of painting + metal plate: 0.8cm)
- Please note: If you plan to frame the painting, I can add wooden fixings on the back (0.8cm thickness; total thickness of painting + wooden fixings: 1.1cm thickness). In this latter case, please contact me so I can prepare the back of the painting before shipping.
